Toni, I love this post. My mother is a quilter and I've been thinking of starting my first quilt for a long time. My goal is to make one for each of my girls. You've inspired me to just set my creativity free and go for it. I might even use pieces of your dresses that my youngest has outgrown because they're hands down the most beloved pieces of clothing they've ever owned. I think using special sentimental pieces like that are what makes a quilt special.

xoxo

Another memory popped up. I made a quilt many years ago for myself and although it was a lot of work, seeing the finished product everyday on my bed was special. I love you idea of sharing these creative suggestions for teens. I read articles in publications where creatives have taken this idea and made quilts from old clothes of a loved one who passed or created a quilt from their own favorite clothes as they were growing up. The possibilities are endless. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful gifts.

Toni,
This brought back memories of when I was in my teens and early twenties and I created homemade ornaments, Christmas decorations and fancy package wrappings. I didn't have a lot of money while in college so I made all of my presents for others and I so enjoyed the experience and the fun being creative. It's people like you who are here to awaken in us the simple gift of being aware of what is around us that we can share with others.

Hi Toni,

This is so beautiful to hear about the adventures of your adolescent and young adult! I am definitely not a blogger (I can probably count the blogs I've been to one one hand :-) but I had to see what you're up to! How wonderful that you're inspiring others and moms with children to open up and soar with their unique brand of creativity! You are such an inspiration!

Much love and happy blogging!

What a great idea! I remember my first quilt - it was a family tree. My family has totally outgrown it, but I may take it on and add the newest members of the family because it just makes me smile when I look at it.

Erin - There is a feed icon at the top in the address bar but Toni will soon have one added to the sidebar as well. I didn't notice the feed in the address bar at first either. :-)
